Hello there! Thank you for visiting my website and looking through my art. My name is Joyce Cho and I’m a freelance illustrator.

A bit about myself - I was born in Seoul, Korea and spent most of my childhood growing up in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, so I’m a sucker for fresh durian and all sorts of wonderful Southeast Asian food. Now, the San Francisco Bay is where I call home.

Some facts about me:

• Illustration isn’t my first career. I’m a former Googler and worked in tech companies for many years as a marketing professional after majoring in communication and advertising, until I went back to art school and started my freelance career.

• I love listening to music, reading novels, watching movies and am a big fan of true-crime podcasts. When I visit new cities, I love visiting independent bookstores to check out local zines and indie magazines. I also love antique stores and handmade things and am a big fan of craft fairs.

• As for my own work, I like drawing people, food and Victorian houses in San Francisco. When I draw people, I imagine what their names would be, where they live and what they like to do for fun. I make it a point to represent people of various ethnicity, culture and style in my illustrations as a celebration of the beauty that diversity offers.
